Corpshore Australia

IT outsourcing

Senior Technical Support Engineer

About the role

You will take the technical support escalations that tier 1 cannot resolve for Corpshore Australia's IT outsourcing clients, a division of Corpshore Solutions Corporation, working out of the Perth site. Perth is a natural base for this role because several of Corpshore Australia's clients sit in Western Australia's energy, mining and utilities sector, where an infrastructure fault has a direct operational cost, not just an inconvenienced user.

The role is hybrid, with time split between the Perth office and remote work, and a defined on-call escalation rotation for the issues that cannot wait for the next business day. You will work directly with client engineering and DevOps teams on infrastructure and platform issues, mentor the tier 1 and 2 specialists coming up behind you, and be one of the people whose judgement the client trusts when something serious breaks.

What you will do

Own the escalations that tier 1 and tier 2 could not resolve, working infrastructure and platform issues across servers, cloud environments, network infrastructure and enterprise applications. Work directly with client engineering and DevOps teams on the harder incidents, including issues that turn out to sit upstream in the client's own infrastructure rather than in the support desk's control. Lead incident response on significant faults, including the technical diagnosis and the client communication that goes with it, particularly for Western Australian energy, mining and utilities accounts where downtime has a real operational and safety cost. Mentor tier 1 and tier 2 specialists, reviewing their harder tickets and helping them build the diagnostic method to handle more themselves next time. Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring or serious incidents and write it up properly, not just close the ticket once the symptom clears. Maintain and improve the internal knowledge base so root-cause findings become reusable rather than living only in your head. Participate in the on-call escalation rotation, taking ownership of after-hours incidents that genuinely cannot wait.

What you bring

At least four to five years in technical support, systems administration or a related infrastructure role, including demonstrated experience handling escalations beyond routine tier 1 and 2 issues. Strong understanding of networking, server administration and at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Working scripting ability in something like PowerShell, Bash or Python for diagnostics and repeatable fixes. Genuine incident management experience, including staying calm and structured during a live outage. English proficiency sufficient for direct technical conversation with client engineering teams and clear written root-cause documentation. Willingness to mentor less experienced specialists as a real part of the job, not an occasional favour.

Nice to have

A cloud certification such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Microsoft Azure Administrator. ITIL certification at Practitioner level or above. Experience supporting energy, mining or utilities sector clients specifically, where operational technology and IT increasingly overlap. Exposure to DevOps tooling, including CI/CD pipelines and monitoring platforms. A second language relevant to Corpshore Australia's client base.

What we offer

The compulsory superannuation guarantee, currently 11.5 per cent and rising to 12 per cent, on top of base salary. Genuine hybrid flexibility, with the office days set around when the team and clients actually need you present. On-call allowance for the escalation rotation in line with the applicable Modern Award. Funded certification and training, including cloud and ITIL pathways. Direct exposure to Western Australia's energy, mining and utilities client accounts, and a clear next step toward a team lead or engineering management role for engineers who want it.
