Corpshore Australia outlines onshore, offshore and hybrid delivery options for Australian and New Zealand businesses

Corpshore Australia has published guidance for Australian and New Zealand organisations weighing up onshore, offshore and hybrid delivery models before committing to an outsourcing engagement, setting out the practical decision points rather than a single default recommendation.
Corpshore Solutions Corporation, the Toronto-headquartered parent of Corpshore Australia and ranked second of the Top 20 BPO Companies in Australia by Outsource Accelerator, offers all three delivery models under one contract and one account team, and says the choice should be driven by the sensitivity of the work and the regulatory position of the organisation buying it, not by cost alone.
Onshore delivery, kept entirely within Australia or New Zealand, suits work where data residency or regulatory sensitivity is the deciding factor, including regulated conversations and escalations. Offshore delivery, drawing on the group's international network, suits high-volume, repeatable work where cost efficiency and scale matter most, with reported cost reductions of 60 to 75 percent against equivalent in-house hiring. A hybrid model splits a single engagement across both, typically pairing an onshore team for escalations and regulated work with an offshore team for volume, under one set of service levels.
Where personal information moves offshore as part of any of these models, Australian Privacy Principle 8 and section 16C of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) mean the Australian organisation stays accountable for how an overseas provider handles that data. New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 treats data sent overseas purely for processing on an agency's behalf differently, and does not always treat it as a disclosure at all, a materially more permissive position than Australia's that should factor into how a New Zealand organisation weighs its own options.
"Most buyers ask us which model is best, and the honest answer is that the question is wrong," said Frank B. Prempeh II, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Corpshore Solutions Corporation. "The right question is which parts of the work need to sit close, and which parts do not. We would rather scope that properly up front than sell one model to everyone and sort out the mismatch later."
Corpshore says the guidance reflects questions it fields consistently from Australian and New Zealand organisations at the start of a first outsourcing engagement, before any specific service is scoped.
