IT outsourcing
Software Engineer, Full Stack
About the role
You will join an embedded engineering squad delivering software development outsourcing for one of Corpshore Australia's clients, a division of Corpshore Solutions Corporation, working out of the Melbourne office. This is Corpshore Australia's onshore software-engineering-augmentation model: rather than working on a Corpshore-owned product, your squad sits inside the client's own codebase, their own tooling and their own sprint cadence, effectively operating as an extension of the client's engineering team.
The role is hybrid, split between the Melbourne office and remote work, on a standard Monday to Friday week. Day-to-day work varies depending on which client engagement you are assigned to, since each squad inherits a different tech stack, different sprint rhythm and different product priorities, though the underlying discipline of building and shipping production features is consistent across engagements.
What you will do
Build and maintain production features across a modern full-stack web application, working within the client's existing codebase, coding standards and architecture rather than a greenfield project of your own design. Write frontend code against the client's chosen framework and backend code against their chosen language and services, including designing and implementing REST or GraphQL API endpoints and the database schema changes that go with them. Participate fully in the client's sprint cadence, including standups, sprint planning, estimation and retrospectives, as an embedded member of their team rather than an outside vendor. Write automated tests for the features you build and fix defects raised through the client's own bug tracking process. Take part in code review, both giving and receiving it, to the standard the client's engineering team expects. Work with the client's product owners and engineering leads directly to clarify requirements before building rather than after. Contribute to CI/CD pipeline changes and deployment processes where the engagement calls for it. Move between different areas of a codebase as sprint priorities shift, and pick up an unfamiliar part of the stack when the work requires it.
What you bring
At least three to five years of professional full-stack software development experience. Solid proficiency in a modern JavaScript or TypeScript frontend framework such as React, Angular or Vue, and a backend language commonly paired with it such as Node.js, Java, Python or C#. Practical experience designing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs, and working with relational or NoSQL databases. Comfortable working in Git with a standard branching and pull request workflow. Genuine experience working in an agile team, including sprint planning and estimation, not just familiarity with the terminology. English proficiency sufficient to work directly with client product owners and engineering leads without a layer of translation.
Nice to have
Experience with a major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Familiarity with containerisation and CI/CD tooling. Strong TypeScript experience specifically. Exposure to automated testing frameworks beyond unit tests, including integration or end-to-end testing. A second language relevant to Corpshore Australia's client base.
What we offer
The compulsory superannuation guarantee, currently 11.5 per cent and rising to 12 per cent, on top of base salary. Genuine hybrid flexibility rather than a fixed five-day office requirement. A professional development budget for courses, conferences or certifications relevant to your stack. Exposure to a genuinely different technology stack and problem set with each client engagement, which builds a broader engineering career than staying on one product ever would. A clear path toward a senior engineer or technical lead role for engineers who want to take on more ownership within their squad.
