AI delivery
AI Delivery Team Lead, Training Data Operations
About the role
You will lead a small onshore team in our Auckland office, coordinating AI training data and evaluation work between Corpshore AI, the AI division of Corpshore Solutions Corporation, and the much larger offshore annotation teams that do the bulk of the labelling volume, delivered principally out of the Philippines, Corpshore's primary offshore delivery partner for the New Zealand market. You are the New Zealand-based point of quality control and client liaison for AI data projects serving Australian and New Zealand clients: the person who makes sure a rubric written for a New Zealand client is actually being applied correctly by a team working from Manila, and the person that client calls when they want a straight answer on where a project stands.
This is an onsite role from our Auckland office, Monday to Friday, with a rostered element: because the offshore team you coordinate with works a different shift pattern, part of your week is structured around handover windows rather than a fixed nine-to-five, so someone on your team is always awake at the point work crosses the time zone boundary.
What you will do
You will own the quality rubrics used across your assigned AI data projects, writing and refining them so they produce consistent results when applied by annotators and reviewers you may never meet in person. You will run reviewer calibration sessions, checking that the offshore team's scoring and labelling decisions match the standard a rubric intends rather than drifting over time, and correcting that drift before a client notices it in the delivered dataset. You will coordinate the handover between your Auckland team and the offshore annotation teams at the point where work crosses shifts, resolving the practical friction of a project that runs across two locations and two working days. You will lead a small onshore team directly, including their day-to-day workload, coaching and development. You will report project status directly to clients, including the honest version when a project is behind schedule or a quality metric has slipped, because credibility with the client depends on that honesty holding up over time. You will escalate systemic quality issues to Corpshore AI's wider programme leadership when the root cause sits in a guideline or a training gap rather than an individual annotator's performance.
What you bring
Several years of experience in BPO, AI data operations, or a comparable quality management function, including direct people leadership of a small team. Genuine experience coordinating work with an offshore team, and the practical understanding of what that actually requires, clear documentation, deliberate handover discipline, and patience with the friction that two time zones and two working cultures create. Confident, clear client-facing communication, including the ability to deliver an unwelcome status update without either sugar-coating it or causing alarm. Comfort owning a quality rubric as a living document that gets revised as problems surface, rather than treating it as fixed once written.
Nice to have
Direct experience with AI training data specifically, such as RLHF programmes, red-teaming or model evaluation work, rather than only general BPO quality management. A formal project management qualification. Prior experience managing a Philippines-based or other offshore delivery relationship specifically. Familiarity with annotation tooling and QA dashboards used in AI data operations.
What we offer
Genuine leadership scope over a growing function inside Corpshore AI, coordinating real client relationships and real offshore delivery rather than sitting one layer removed from either. KiwiSaver contributions on top of your salary. An onsite Auckland base with a defined team to lead from day one. Ongoing professional development support as you build out the quality and coordination systems for a New Zealand AI data operation that is still being shaped, which means real influence over how the role itself evolves.
